The weather in Cordoba is wonderful during the summer time: the days are long and the millions of doves stay close to the roosting areas due to the crops. With more than 20 years experience, we have exclusive access to some of the best fields in the famous Macha dove shooting area! All this is combined with finest 5-star food and lodging, and it’s no wonder that Rio de Piedra is widely considered to be “the premium dove shooting lodge in all of Argentina”. Superb quality dove and duck shooting, charming people and excellent hospitality combine to make a few days hunting in Argentina a memorable experience. Cordoba province is considered the dove shooting capital of the world. Over 50 million doves annually inhabit the 60-mile radius (95 km) of the lodge. The lodge features 40 shooting fields, which are within a 30 or 40-minute drive through rolling hills. The quarry is the eared dove, which flies virtually continuously throughout the day, enabling guns to shoot from dawn until dusk, to their hearts' content. **Location and Transport** * Located in central Argentina in the province of Córdoba, 50 miles (80 km) north of Córdoba City international airport. Driving time: 50 minutes * There are weekly direct flights from Madrid, Spain to Córdoba City – Iberia Airlines.Thisallows making the most of your trip as you can be dove shooting on the day of your arrival. * Guests may also fly to Ezeiza International. Airport in Buenos Aires, then transfer to the domestic airport and take the hour flight to Córdoba. British Airways fly direct four days a week, with flat beds available in Business Class. **The Shooting** * The program generally starts at 8:00 AM with breakfast, followed by a 30 or 40-minute drive to the shoot. * In the field you will be assigned a bird-boy, who will provide you with shot shells and refreshments and direct you to your shooting stand. * You will be constantly visited by your main guide who is available to assist you in any need, even in giving you some tips on your shooting if required. * Depending on the weather conditions, you will shoot till noon or sunset. At midday you will be offered an incredible barbeque in the field,where you will enjoy the famous Argentine beef. * Afternoon begins at around 2 or 2:30 hr., and continues until almost dark. There is no definite time to close the shoot. * Return to the lodge for cocktails and early dinner. **Arrival** A VALID PASSPORT with at least 6 months remaining. No visa is needed for English citizens; others should check entry requirements with the Argentine consulate. **Customs and Firearms Registration** You should inform the airline prior to travel date that you will be carrying shotguns and declare them when checking in for your flight. An airline official will escort you to a Customs post for gun registration and then hand-carry your guns to the plane. On return, you must retrieve your guns at the airline service desk in the baggage hall. An airline official will accompany you to the red channel, where your guns are registered with Customs as re-entering the country. **Health requirements** We suggest that you consult with your physician for medical advice on travel to Argentina. If your physician is not familiar with travel-related medicine, the CDC offers excellent, up-to-date information on health precautions for travellers by fax; call toll-free 888-236-1033 and follow the recorded instructions. ARGENTINA CLASSIC DOVE  with no internal flights Forget kicking your heels waiting for internal flights or wasting a day behind the wheel before you can take aim at the legendary Argentinean doves. Luxuriate in the fabulous surroundings of an estate in Entre Rios, just a hop skip and jump from Buenos Aires (no internal flights needed) where gourmet food and fine Argentinean wines set the tone. With high volume dove shooting available 365 days a year, you have your choice of dates. SINGLE VENUE DUCK, PERDIZ, DOVE Perched on a bluff overlooking 35,000 acres of wetland, rich floodplain and woodland, is the only Argentinean lodge where it is possible to shoot duck partridge, and dove in the same Day without having to repack your suitcase. DAWN: A 10-minute boat trip from the lodge will put you in the midst of a duck hunting wonderland. A morning’s mixed bag at the limit of 20 per gun per day can include brown pintail, white cheeked pintail, cinnamon teal, speckled teal, ringed teal, silver teal, southern widgeon, red shoveler, tree ducks and rosy billed pochard. MORNING: Partridge or perdiz shooting complements duck and dove shooting from May to August. Between breakfast and lunch Fast-flushing birds are shot over pointing dogs on rolling hills in beautiful countryside. Not the easiest way to achieve your limit of 7 birds per gun per day. AFTERNOON: No visit to Argentina would be complete without partaking in the infamous dove shooting, so round out the day and the bag with your fill of the estate’s 20 million eared doves.
