Cranford Estate, a 1,000-acre Northamptonshire estate, is easily accessible from London (90 minute drive) and located between Oundle and Kettering. The estate consists mainly of arable farmland but with numerous woods and also rewilded ironstone quarry. Cranford Hall itself is the seat of the Robinson family and has been in the family ownership since its construction in the 18th century. The shoot is not a "commercial" shoot with the focus purely on large scale game rearing and excessively high bag numbers. We pride ourselves on managing the Estate sympathetically for game but also encouraging biodiversity over peripheral farm habitats. More information on the Estate can be found on our website.

We are a relaxed, friendly and traditional shoot offering a really attractive series of woodland drives in beautiful rural Northamptonshire.   We shoot mostly pheasants, with a few partridges, and have a simply brilliant duck drive (no one enjoys just shooting ducks off a farm pond!). We present really good quality birds and there are plenty of them. We stand 9 guns and bags vary between 150-200; if there are more birds we shoot them. In December, we see a really good number of woodcock and have some fantastic snap shooting in lovely mature woodland. A great seasonal shoot. Good hospitality is a really important part of the day for us, and we all travel around in a comfortable gun bus towed by a tractor. There is plenty of laughter and everyone is made to feel very welcome. Great quality food and drink are provided, including tea and coffee, bacon rolls in the morning, and a lovely hearty lunch, which is prepared back at the yard by the gamekeeper’s wife. The core syndicate shoot on most days, which is supplemented by a few regular guns who take 2-3 days. We are also looking for a couple of new syndicate members as we expand the number of days we shoot in the coming years. We have recently launched a Facebook page, Denton Wood Shoot, which will show photos and a bit of the banter plus our shoot dates.

Two guns are available to join our family farm shoot situated in the rolling hills of Northamptonshire offering a relaxing and enjoyable days shooting.  Game covers have been planted and spinneys are utilised to offer some great sport. We aim to offer our members 7 days enjoyable and friendly mixed walked and driven shooting, on alternative Saturdays, commencing 19th October.  Pheasants are our main quarry however opportunities may arise to shoot natural quarry including partridge and mallard.  Generally the bag is around 30 - 50 birds. The day starts at 9am in our shoot room by a log fire with a cup of coffee, followed by a mornings shooting then lunch. After a two course sit down hot lunch back at the shoot room, with plenty of banter, we head out to burn off the calories for more enjoyable shooting.  We end the day back in the shoot room for light refreshments and a count up of the bag. Price for 7 days shooting all inclusive £900 inc. vat per gun.
