After a period of change, with the sad passing of the founder John Newton-Brown, we are now taking bookings for the 2024 season. The shoot is now under new management, looking to carry on the fantastic work done by John and his team. Considered to be one of the finest shooting estates in the country Firle Place is the perfect destination for Simulated Game and Clay Pigeon Shooting in the South. Firle is a beautiful country village nestled in the heart of the Sussex Downs and just 60 miles from London and 10 miles from Brighton. Firle Place is the home of the Gage family and has been for over 500 years. Set at the foot of the Sussex Downs within its own parkland the Estate covers approx. 7500 acres of this stunning part of the South East and includes high ridges and slopes as well as woodland and farmland. **_We tailor days for individuals as well as groups of 8 to 16 people, whether you are an experienced gun or relatively new to the sport._** Using only state-of-the-art Bowman game trailers, as well as individually-placed traps and a wide variety of ‘birds’, Firle offers one of the most realistic simulated shoots in the country. **We have recently introduced 'Open' Beacon Days.** These new simulated game shooting days are for single guns and two’s or threes who will be able to share the drives with other individuals and smaller groups to make up a full squad. This will happen in exactly the same format as our very popular Beacon four-drive day and includes your breakfast and lunch. **_This will make having a great day’s shooting on the Firle Estate even more accessible to even more people._** Please do not hesitate to contact us should you be interested in shooting with us on any of these 'open' dates.  With the simulated game days each team of 6 - 16 guns will be presented thousands of varying "birds" over different drives so we advise at least 350 fibre wad cartridges per person. We can also offer :- PRE-SEASON WARM UPS INDIVIDUAL COACHING TASTER/INTRODUCTION DAYS CORPORATE EVENTS TRAP HIRE TO YOUR OUTSIDE EVENT** You can purchase additional cartridges and essential eye and ear protection should you need.  Please bring your shotgun certificate and insurance (BASC/CPSA/CA etc) with you on arrival or Day Insurance cover is available from us.. Pegs are usually shot as guns in pairs changing over and with peg partners acting as either loaders or scorers or both - the choice is always yours. The Firle Shoot is a renowned and well established mixed game shoot entering it’s 20th season this year. Situated only 60 miles from London (Gatwick Airport 40mins) and based around the village at Firle, near Lewes, East Sussex, the shoot occupies the lovely rolling hills and valleys of the South Downs (the hill). The shooting lands extend to 2,750 acres. The shoot provides Partridge and Pheasant shooting of very high quality. Bags are for 200 or 250 birds with some flexibility if required. Dogs and non shooting guests are welcome. September and early October days concentrate on partridges on the hill but early released pheasants may also be shot from the beginning of October. The combination provides testing sport on these early days. The partridge in late September fly really well in what are usually good sea breezes. All this is in the wonderful surroundings of the South Downs which are beautifully illustrated in the attached picture of The Bostal Drive painted by Richard Robjent. Our mission is to provide a well organised but relaxed day with a syndicate day feel. The shoot is run as a Sporting Club. Participants will become members of The Firle Sporting Club Ltd

This wonderfully picturesque South Downs shoot offers a vast range of shooting, catering for all guns. From driven partridge days in September and October, becoming mixed pheasant and partridge days from November The shoot can stand between 8 and 10 guns. The bag size can range anywhere from 250 bird days upwards and including double gun, at your request. Loaders, transport around the shoot, and accommodation in the local area can be arranged as required.

The Stonehouse Estate shoot is set in the beautiful East Sussex countryside in an estate of approx 2,500 acres. A typical shoot day will consist of traditional Pheasant drives (with an occasional partridge or two) and Duck drives upon request. The estate has over 30 drives of varying difficulty to chose from, cover crops, broad leaf woodland glades, conifer forest with valleys and ponds. Providing a real mix of terrain for the showing of birds.
