Bowmont Valley

Roxburghshire, United Kingdom

Situated in the heart of the Cheviot Hills, the Bowmont valley is without doubt one of the the best high bird shoots in the UK. With many of our clients returning year after year and often several times during the season to enjoy fabulous shooting in stunning scenery. Owned by the Duke of Roxburghe the Bowmont Valley had not been formally shot until we took on the estate in 1999\. Although situated only about 12 miles from the Town of Kelso on a shoot day you seldom see anyone other than those involved with the shoot of Shepherds looking after their sheep. The Bowmont valley is only a short drive from the Dukes award winning Roxburghe Hotel and Golf course making it the ideal place to stay. The Roxburghe Hotel is around 1 hour 15 minutes from Edinburgh airport, 1 hour from Newcastle airport and 40 minutes from Berwick-upon-Tweed railway station giving good access from all over the UK and overseas. Over the last 15 years we have developed around 50 drives for both pheasant and partridge. Many of the drives are famous for their quality with, Sourhope, Auchope cottage, Gloomy Cleuch , The Kings Seat and The Red Gyle showing pheasants that need to be seen to be believed. The partridge drives at Bowmont are also exceptional both in terms of quality and quantity, testing even the best of guns, drives such as Gloomy Cleuch,The banks, Cheviot burn, and Dry Slack have few equals. If you are looking for an extreme challenge - look no further. We can arrange airport transfers, visitors shotgun permits and all other arrangements to ensure your trip is truly memorable. We shoot both double and single gun days and are happy to provide loaders if required, guns or partners are more than welcome to bring dogs to pick-up. In addition to the fabulous Driven days we can also provide a limited number of walked-up Grouse days. We also have some fantastic mixed walk up days and mini driven days available.
