Greenhill is an estate of outstanding natural beauty. Situated in the Cheviot Hills on the Scottish side of the border the steep heather clad hills are a magnificent place to spend a day's shooting.
Although only around 9 miles from the beautiful Abbey towns of Kelso and Jedburgh it feels truly remote and often you see nobody other than those involved in the shoot for the whole day.
Owned by the Duke of Roxburghe we have been shooting Greenhill since the 2000/2001 season.
We shoot mainly Partridge at Greenhill and have some spectacular drives such as The Kip, The old house, Rock Stell, Dun Rigg, Drouke Knowe and Whitestone Hill to name but a few, all providing a variety of shooting, with some birds at extreme heights while others are crossing at all angles and speeds giving great challenging sport for all tastes. We have some wild Goats at Greenhill and it is quite a sight to see them walking along in front of the beaters as the drives come in.
We also have some spectacular pheasant drives at Greenhill, The Dam, Mainside and The Yett, all provide birds of incredible quality.
In addition to the outstanding driven days that we offer at Greenhill, we can also provide walked up Grouse days and Mixed walk-up.
We have some fantastic accommodation available when shooting at Greenhill with the award-winning Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course only 10 minutes from the shoot.
There is also a private shooting Lodge on the edge of the shoot. Greenhill Lodge has been restored to a fantastic standard and is the ideal accommodation for any team looking to stay in a private house. Top class catering can be arranged at the house and you benefit from being no more than 1 mile from some of the finest Partridge drives anywhere in the UK.
Greenhill is well situated for transport links with Newcastle Airport around 1 hours drive while Edinburgh Airport is around 1 hour 20 minutes. We also have Berwick-upon-tweed railway station around 40 minutes drive, this provides a fast train to London Kings Cross taking around 3 hours 30 minutes.
