Duck shooting in Oxfordshire

Emmington Shoot is a small friends and family shoot over 500+ acres, plus approximately 400 acres of surrounding woodland, where there are no other shoots, so we dog-in from these areas. We put down 2250 pheasant, 1000 French partridge and 500 duck, which are on two large ponds. We have a team of 12/14 beaters, plus pickers-up. We have approximately 30 acres of sown cover crop, plus approximately 50 acres of wild bird mix cover. We normally peg 10 guns, we shoot 8 days, plus beaters day and we average 100+ birds per day. There may also be the availability of some high-seat Deer stalking. 8 days shooting, plus beaters day, £5000 per gun. We normally shoot on Saturdays, October to January, dates TBA.

Hare’s Leap Shoot is a well-established family-run shoot located in beautiful South Oxfordshire. The shoot is set on a privately owned farm with access to 5,000 acres for shooting and is easily accessible from major road links and only 15 minutes from the M40. This season we have mixed shooting days of pheasant and French partridges available along with the opportunity for a duck drive should you wish. Your host, Mark Brown, plans each day meticulously, and out of the available 24 drives, a selection will be chosen on the day to take advantage of wind direction and weather conditions so we can provide you with the best possible experience. We welcome guns who wish to bring their own dogs if they wish but we have a team of picker-ups and beaters with dogs who have been with us for many years. All transport around the shoot is provided. We are a small shoot near Chipping Norton. We are very relaxed and normally shoot between 100-120 birds a day based a shot kill ratio of 3:1. We have had cancellations on January 9th and 20th these two dates are offered as whole day packages. We can accommodate up to 10 guns. We aim for a mixed bag of around 50 birds with pheasant, red-leg partridge and the occasional flush of wild duck off the river.
