Abercairny Estate is a renowned sporting estate in Perthshire near the town of Crieff. The estate has some of the best mixed sport on offer in Scotland with a grouse moor and low ground shoot as well as deer stalking and salmon fishing. Rough/ Mini-Driven/ Species Day: To include small drives and some walking-up for a maximum of 8 guns. A rough day is about quality rather than quantity, experience rather than numbers… the bag is typically between 20-60 birds and we charge for the day regardless of the actual bag. The bag may include pheasant, partridge, woodcock, snipe, pigeon, duck (Mallard, Teal), plus red grouse according to season and the gamekeeper’s discretion. Catering on the day is included. Each gun will be offered a brace of game from the larder at the end of the day. Red Deer Stalking: There is now no close season for stags but we will stick to the traditional 1 July – 20 October/ hinds 21 October – 15 February. Roe Deer Stalking: The season for bucks is 1 April – 20 October and does 21 October – 31 March. Simulated Game: We present an exhilarating full day’s shooting of upwards of 3000 launched clays using actual out-of-season pheasant, partridge, and grouse drives and stands with our mobile automatic clay traps to challenge a minimum of 8 guns and a maximum of 16 guns. With Mikes knowledge, experience and expertise, our shoot is one of the most testing,  sporting and enjoyable in the country.    Your Host - Ally Gillie -Ally has a lifetime of experience in the shooting industry, his knowledge of shoot etiquette, safety, and Working Gundogs, is second to none.  This team, along with our extremely professional and friendly beat keepers, pickers up and beaters - many of whom have been with us from the beginning - all contribute to the relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the enjoyment of your day with us.  **WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR DAY   ** The day starts at 9 00 Am. Your shoot host Ally, will welcome you to our shoot and deliver the safety drill.  You will shoot two drives, then warming, homemade, traditional Scottish elevenses will be served.  You will then shoot another quality drive, followed by a delicious, home cooked lunch in a beautiful traditional Shoot Hall. Drinks are provided.  This will then be followed by the final drives of the day.  We are happy to customise your day to meet your needs and requirements.  Guns, cartridges, loaders, insurance, transport from hotels, and accommodation can be provided at extra cost. We are spoilt in this area by the very high quality accommodation that surrounds us. We are easily accessible from all the main centres, within an hour and 30 minutes commute from.
