**Please contact the Elton Hall Events Office for more information and available dates.** The Elton Hall shoot is a long established and well run family shoot in the East Midlands, near Oundle in Northamptonshire and close to both Stamford and Peterborough. The shoot is well-known for its quality and variety of game, from exhilarating partridges in high winds to woodland pheasant drives. The shoot comprises about 3,000 acres with Elton Hall, a Grade I listed historic house, at the centre. It straddles the Cambridgeshire/Northamptonshire border, just 3 miles from the A1 for easy access to all major routes. Peterborough station is within 20 minutes drive with travel time to London Kings Cross of just 45 minutes. Shooting is across a wide variety of terrain, mainly a mixture of arable and grass with over 500 acres of woodland. Our well-sited game covers allow our experienced Gamekeeper, Nicky Smith, to choose the drives on the day according to conditions to provide the best possible sport. Elton Estate offers a mixed pheasant/partridge shoot for teams of 8-10 guns with bags between 200-350. Every effort is made to provide an enjoyable day for everybody and all standards of shot are welcome. A loader is provided for young or inexperienced shots at an agreed cost. There are many beautiful views over the surrounding countryside around Elton. Days are hosted by our experienced Shoot Captain, with earlier days in September/October as mainly partridges and later days mainly pheasants. The partridges are shown from strategically positioned cover crops, which make the best use of the topography of the land. The contours are ideal for partridge shooting with undulating hills and hollows. Pheasants are shown from cover crops (usually driven back to the woods) and from the woods. There are some duck and woodcock in December and January. Teams return year after year not only for the quality of shooting but for our excellent hospitality. The day starts with morning coffee before heading out in our own gun bus. Elevenses are usually taken in a beautiful woodland corner of the Estate, around a roaring brazier, with wonderful views. Lunch is optional for teams shooting through and is served in the grand surroundings of the Billiard Room at Elton Hall, consisting of two delicious chef-cooked courses with wine. Guests can help themselves to drinks from the bar by the fireside. Alternatively, the day ends with tea back by the fireside in the Billiard Room. The popularity of the Elton Hall Shoot means that our diary fills quickly so please do not hesitate to contact the Events Office to discuss availability.

Redmere Sporting Shoot is a fully keepered shoot covering 2000 acres with ample birds to covert. Situated on the Norfolk/Cambridgeshire border it is less than 1 hour from Cambridge. All of our syndicate shooting will be driven, and will start in November through to February. Benefits to the shoot location is that there are no public roads on the farm where it is situated, but many of the local villages have accomodation available to anyone who wishes to avoid travelling to and from home on the day. We plan to offer relaxed, enjoyable driven days with an emphasis on safety to competant guns looking to shoot good quality birds and a mixed bag at a sensible price. The numbers of birds shot each day will vary as we like to shoot quality birds but a bag of 100+ will normally be expected. All the birds on our shoot are hatched and reared by us from our own proven quality laying stock. On the day we will meet at our shooting lodge where teas, coffees and refreshments are available. This is where the pegs will be drawn and a briefing on the day ahead is given, There is also a dining area where the shoot party including the beaters can congregate to reflect on their days shooting; and toilet facilities. The hosts are experienced father and son Graham and Darren Smith who run two syndicates on the neighbouring farms. We also have a private car park where cars can be left safely for the day and from where our good quality guns trailer will depart to transport you around the shoot. All necessary transport throughout the day will be provided. The shoot layout is varied with a mixture of woods, shelter belts, game cover strips, arable crops, reservoirs, ponds and rough covers. The woods and shelter belts being laid out for shooting many years ago. The beating team on syndicate days will remain consistent so as to ensure a relaxed, enjoyable and friendly day where everyone is well acquainted. Reasonably trained dogs are also welcome with any syndicate member. We thrive on shoot days that are successful both in the quantity but most importantly quality of the birds. Therefore we look forward to welcoming new sensible members who can help to establish our syndicate. Perspective shoot members are more than welcome to contact Graham Smith for further details. We also offer driven duck days, duck flighting and deer stalking
