The Gledfield Estate is based just outside the village of Ardgay. At the heart of the estate is Gledfield House, a beautiful 18th century mansion house. The estate extends to just over 5000 acres of moorlands, lochs, mountains, rivers and forestry. We offer red stag and hinds stalking, evening duck flight shooting and salmon and trout fishing. There are two holiday cottages available for shoot parties, one accommodating up to 4 and the other up to 6 people, with dogs also welcome at a small additional charge. Sporting prices displayed here do not include accommodation - please do contact us and we can arrange a tailored package for you. Shooting days or weekends can be arranged for individuals or small parties, you will be accompanied by the estate Stalker or Gamekeeper. Nestled in the heart of the English Lake District, Graythwaite Estate red deer stalking is an unforgettable experience to even the most experienced deer stalker. Steeped in history and been the hunting grounds of our forbears for hundreds of years the estate comprises various landscapes. From woodland surrounded pastures to lakes and steep wooded valleys, open fell ground and thick conifers the estate has a little bit of everything. Red deer and roe deer are plentiful, herds of 30-40 reds are quite common. From late September when the red stags start to Rut, the roars can be heard from miles around. The red deer in this part of the Furness fells are typically short legged, big body and have thick antlers up to 16 points. Being on a reduction cull at the moment means that we have a large number of deer to cull and this also gives us the opportunity to provide what ever the client wishes to shoot. Trophy’s and cull beasts are all on the menus.

We Manage for our small venison cutting plant wild roe, fallow and muntjac over 10,000 acres of  privately owned Cotswold countryside with the aim to farm in the wild a sustainable deer population we offer accompanied stalking for Individuals & groups, experienced & novice shots all welcome. Female guide available for lady stalkers. As part of our Sustainable Wild management policy we will have a shoot-able surplus of roe, fallow and muntjac, this will include Does, Old going back Bucks and a percentage of young cull Bucks.
