Birch farm sits in the rolling countryside of south Shropshire on the border of Worcestershire. The shoot is made up of drives from both cover crops and small woods, though typically guns are not shooting in woodland. The drives are not too big which makes for a varied and full day which can include up to six drives. Typically a day starts with tea and coffee and drawing pegs with a brief spiel about the day and the do’s and don’ts and safety. We normally do three drives before eleven’s then lunch at the end of the day, however we can cater for what individual teams prefer. Transport throughout the day is on our own gun trailer, so 4x4’s are not required. We can cater for additional non shooting guests and for novice shots we can provide someone to stand with you throughout the day to make your day more enjoyable (this may incur an extra cost).

Hospitality

Eleven’s typically consists of pork pie, sausages and soup. Lunch is usually a traditional roast followed by dessert or cheese. Throughout the day the champagne and sloe gin is never too far away!

Topography

The topography is made up of steep sided grass valleys, though guns typically stand in the bottom of the valleys on flat ground. The farm has small plantations dotted about which were specifically planted with shooting in mind.

About the hosts

As Birch farm is our own family farm we have the ability to run the shoot how we think a shoot should be run with great care being taken to look after and indeed enhance the environment and habitat the shoot can provide for all wildlife.
