Set in 2000 acres of rolling Wiltshire countryside on the edge of the Marlborough Downs. This sociable, established shoot offers fast driven partridge over a variety of challenging & spectacular terrain, as well as tall driven pheasants from November onwards. We are a syndicated shoot with the occassional sold day periodically throughout the season. Our target bag is 100 birds from 10 guns & we offer some smaller days at the end of the season on a walk one / stand one basis.
We meet on Fridays at a local pub for coffee & a briefing. Then move off for the days sport which can vary from an exposed, windswept location at 750 feet to large deep valleys. A mixture of cover crops are used in all locations to assist in the presentation of consistent, quality birds. We make a stop for elevenses & have a lunch at different locations to suit our requirements. We pride ourselves on making everyone welcome, so that we all enjoy the occasion. Then at the end of the day we can return to the pub & reminisce on the event.
Major routes in all directions are very accessible as we are within 2 miles of M4 (junction 15 Swindon).

If you ever see a day on this shoot advertised, don't consider the cost just book it. This is possibly the best shoot I have been on in the last 8 years, well run with experienced beaters and dog handlers. The birds are well presented and plenty of them being driven from well positioned woodland and cover crops over the team of 9 guns placed apart to take the opportunity of some impressive flushes showing some quality birds. Mix this shooting with the ample and mostly homemade field lunch and you have a recipe for an unforgettable day in some of the best countryside around. From what I have seen, the pheasant shooting will be on a par with the partridge and I deeply envy the guns who are lucky to have booked days this season. One very satisfied shooter,
