Lower Woodford Shoot is situated just on the outskirts of salisbury city, The A36 runs on the west side of the shoot and the A303 runs to the north of the shoot. We can look down at salisbury Catherderal from the middle of the shoot, we are also a 5 minutes drive from stonehendge and The famous Wilton House and Estate. At Woodford we have 3 testing valleys offering pheasant and partridge, all situated withing a 1000 acres.
The shoot is ran and keepered by myself and i also run my own gamefarm so i breed a strain of pheasant that holds well but also testing for the guns on the day. I release a good number of birds to cover the bags on the days but not over stocking the land that we shoot over. The shoot is privileged to have 2 local inn's one in lower woodford and one in middle woodford.
We meet at 8:30 to 9:00 for a 9:30 on pegs start, We shoot 2 drives then have elevenses, soup and rolls etc. there are two options available you can stop for lunch after 4 drives and 1 drive after or we can shoot straight through then stop after 5 drives for dinner. We have more drives available if needed depending on bag size. Are 2 local inns are the Wheatsheaf inn and the Bridge inn, there arelots of hotels in and around salisbury and a travel lodge on the A303 at amesbury which is 10 minutes away from the shoot. Greenfileds gunshop is also in salisbury for cartridges and Accessories.
I have dates available for October, November and December from 150 to 300 bird days. If you require any other information please contact thank you for looking.

What a fantastic day !!! Lindsey, Andy and their team were fantastic from start to finish. It was a hard day with the season in full flow and beaters being hard to come by this didn’t stop them putting on a great day for us. The shoot has a lovely mix of pheasant and partridge, testing birds for every strength of gun. Andy collected us from the bridge inn pub right on time. Both the breakfast and lunch were fantastic. They were very hospitable and Andy did his best to for fill out every need. I would highly recommend this shoot for teams of guns wanting a nice relaxed days shooting. Finally if I had to describe this shoot in two words I would use ( hidden gem ) Thanks again for having us.

The shoot would benefit from a good 'front of house' as sadly there was a lack of communication/contact on the day. We weren't met until close to 10am (supposed to be a 9.30am start) and after the 3rd drive we were left standing in a field for nearly an hour in the rain. All very disappointing. On the plus side the breakfast & lunch in The Bridge pub were very good.
