Great Durnford

The Great Durnford Estate is an exquisite sporting estate, tucked away in the famous Woodford valley surrounded by undulating chalk downs, yet easily accessible from London via M3 and A303. It boasts an exceptional in-hand pheasant and partridge shoot with bags between 150-250 over 1000 + acres.

The natural terrain and steep valleys combined with the strategic woodland planting and gamecovers produce extremely challenging sport.

The day is very professionally run and relaxed with a shoot captain who is very easy going and always striving to produce the ultimate package of quality safe shooting to suit all of the needs of a gun from tradional methods to modern day corporate shooting.

The estate has just had a new estate centre built with a gun room, boot room and toilets for the hospitality of the day. The estate has a wonderful chef on board to provide food to the highest standard and quaility. There is also the opportunity to have coffee and breakfast rolls if so required.

The shoot will generally consist of 5 drives run by a single handed keeper and 20 + beaters all from the local area.

December and January dates also provide the opportunity to have a go at some Woodcock, which are present throughout the shoot.

The combination of mature woodland and valley sides make for excellent pheasant drives with a few early partridge to warm you up.

The estate allows excellent access via vehicles or foot with a good network of tracks.
