Traditional Estate Steeped in History surrounding the local area of Malmesbury, in the Cotswolds, the current home of the 22nd Earl of Suffolk, 15th Earl of Berkshire. Using the natural landscape and extensive woodland, some of the Cotswolds sporting pheasants and partridges are available, across 12 drives. Novice and experienced guns, together with their dogs are all welcome.
We have days available for both full teams and individual pegs.
Partridges are shown from well known drives including Ashers, Old Skillham and Conigre . These drives will succeed thanks to the tall trees, encouraging the birds to gain height and slide when in full flight over the valleys. Pheasant drives showing challenging birds from signatory drives benefit from prevailing winds off banks over the Little Avon River and valley.
We are excited to have this ground from season 2023/24 with a different twist on the shoot by showing Partridges, again over tall trees on top of some steep sided valleys, shooting on over 4500 acres of Grass land, Park Land and Arable farmland.
We can offer some of the best Walked up Rough shooting for teams and individual guns to make up a line of 6, with anticipated bags of 30 head shooting over teams of flushing and retriever dogs. Half of the Estate is planted with arable cover crops other habitat including small woodlands, grass margins, ditches well maintained wide hedgerows, double banked little Avon, banks and valleys. Very unique to this part of England, Refreshments are taken in the field.

All Shot game is processed locally, with a complimentary brace supplied to the clients on the day, all other game is supplied to local retailers and wholesalers.
Hospitality
Lunch is typically served in a local Inn with exceptional dishes, which boasts roaring open fires, comfortable sofas. Alternatively lunch can be served from picnic hampers in the field or in one of the traditional dry stone barns with a local chef preparing Lunch on a BBQ. Excellent accommodation can be arranged local to the estate. Loaders, instructors, gun and vehicle hire are all available upon request.
Topography
Excellently maintained, and managed, woodland, game cover crops and grass strips providing exceptional habitat for game birds. Wide, steep valleys and the tall trees encourage birds to gather speed and height during the drives.
Conservation Efforts
The Estate is in a Countryside Steward Scheme managed inhouse by Robin Aird Farms and Estate Manager, Charlton Park Estate, the Mid Tier and Sustainable farming incentive and have over 1200 acres of cover crops growing in the winter as well as 30 ha of wild bird food and feed over 15T of winter bird feed through the schemes, to include 2m, 4m and 6m grass margins, Enhanced Field Corners together with Floristically enhanced, Nectar Rich and Wild bird seed mix areas across the whole Estate.
About the hosts
During every shoot day a Host will accompany the Guns; their passion and knowledge of all field sports, is second to none, together with their friendly outlook this will help any guns settle into the Day. The professional team will provide excellent sport encouraging different types of Birds to shoot using the wind and topography to show not just driven but also sliding birds to challenge the Guns, whilst possessing a genuine interest in all aspects of game and wildlife, the countryside and conservation.

A fine example of how great shooting can be in all it's aspects. From the outset we were warmly welcomed by Bryan the gamekeeper, George the head beater and all the syndicate members with which we had the pleasure of joining for the day. All the guns were given plenty of opportunities for great sport throughout the day, which was professionally organised yet still retained a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Would happily go back!

I have always enjoyed this splendid shoot. The day is always arranged so that all guns get a memorable day. Some testing birds, some very testing, others within the range of of the average gun. The keeper, a truly decent man, always ensured that every gun had a thoroughly good day.
