A rare opportunity to enjoy a day of driven high pheasant shooting at this family run shoot. Part of the Wiston Estate, which has been owned and managed by the Goring family for over 270 years, the shoot takes place in the heart of the South Downs. With deep valleys and exceptional views, the day gives incredibly sporting birds in a relaxed atmosphere. With usual bags of 200 to 250 there are 20 named drives, which cater for different levels of experience but all pheasants are of the highest quality.
Hospitality
At the heart of the shoot is the family home, where guns will be given a warm welcome and a full lunch. You will also be given a glass of the award winning Wiston Estate sparkling wine, made from the vineyards that will have been seen earlier in the day.
For those who want to stay the night before there is accommodation in Steyning, Findon and at Amberley Castle.
Topography
The shoot takes place on the southern part of the 6000 acre estate, within 4 deep downland valleys.
Conservation Efforts
We look after 1500acres of chalk grassland with conservation grazing by Sussex and White Park cattle roaming across the farm and have been working with the GWCT since the 1960's on the nature corridors, which make up 25% of the area of arable land. Conservation work runs hand in hand with the shoot and our keepers oversees a lot of the conservation work, in seeing the restoration of biodiversity across the estate.
About the hosts
Harry Goring will be your host throughout the day. He is married to Pip and they have 6 children and 10 grandchildren.

Top notch shoot with extremely challenging birds. Run with a family feel, yet very high quality. And the sparkling wine is superb!
