Pheasant

Bignor Park Shoot set within the idyllic historic estate of Bignor Park and nestling under the beautiful South Downs of West Sussex, is run by the shoot tenant and gamekeeper Mark Walker with his wife Kirsten.

Covering just over 1000 acres and made up of 400 acres of woodland, 5 blocks of cover crop and 600 acres of grassland and parkland, the shoot is able to offer varied shooting over 14 drives.

With stunning views to the South Downs you might find yourself standing in a valley under a beech wood with birds driven from a cover crop above or standing on a gun ride in a wood, snap shooting as birds are flushed from one of the many broadleaf woods covering the estate.

Having expanded the shoot over the last two seasons we are now able to offer a limited number of 120-130 bird days for teams of 8 or 9 guns with all hospitality included. We pride ourselves on offering a friendly family run day where guns, beaters and pickers up mix throughout the day, starting with bacon rolls and coffee being taken together on arrival.

After two drives, mid morning drinks of champagne and sloe gin are served in the field, and after a further drive lunch is taken in The Woodshed, with a main course, cheese board, wine and port served to the whole team. After lunch guns return to the field for the final 2 drives of the day.

As one of our regular clients commented at the end of his day last year, 'If only Carlsberg made Shooting'...
