“Cenicientos offers traditional Spanish driven partridge shooting near Madrid, combining challenging sport, warm hospitality and the best of Spanish gastronomy, with honest shooting days and transparent bird management under the No Cages, No Boxes best-practice badge”

Hospitality

Our high quality Lodge is located near the village of “Cenicientos”. Very close to Madrid (80 km), as well as Toledo and Avila. Our staff will pick you up at Adolfo Suarez airport in Madrid, 75 min away, and assist you with the guns paperwork.

5 twin and 5 double rooms available.

Our philosophy is to provide not only great shooting but also to ensure that all the details, such as great food, good wines and helpful staff are also the key part of a memorable day. Is not only quality shooting what we offer. We believe that 50% of the experience should be sharing the wealth and variety of our wines.

We select all our wines for each season such as Rivera del Duero, Rioja and of course, Jerez/Sherry to work in harmony with the best local ingredients.

Birds

Guns can expect a varied programme of drives, with fast, sporting partridges shown across different ground, so no two drives feel the same

Topography

Cenicientos is set in classic central Spanish country, where open farmland, scrub-covered hillsides and natural breaks in the ground create a varied and sporting setting for driven partridge.

Conservation Efforts

While Cenicientos is first and foremost a working partridge shoot, good land management is central to what we do. We maintain feeding and watering points, manage the ground carefully throughout the season, and work to preserve a healthy balance between partridges, other wildlife and the wider agricultural landscape.

About the hosts

Javier López de Carrizosa Mora-Figueroa was born in Jerez in southern Spain. As a youngster he accompanied his father to wild partridge shoots on family estates, this is where he began to learn the art of running a shoot. Later on he combined his Law Studies with working for the Agency Espacaza running big game hunts.

Having graduated from Law School he decided not to go into practice but follow his passion by becoming shoot manager at Fuentelfresno; a well know partridge shoot. A few years later he ran Gonzalo Banus’ shoot at Cenicientos for 3 years.

Since 2010 Javier has been running his own shoot; driven by tradition, high quality and value for money his organization is becoming synonymous with good shooting in Spain.
