Turkish Driven Boar

Guests can look forward to a fully hosted experience with Benula Sporting. Rob will ensure everything is taken care of from the moment of booking to the hunt itself and beyond.

Full board hotel accommodation is included with lunch being provided in the field.

Turkey has become one of the best counties in the world for driven boar hunting. Vast areas of unspoilt natural terrain provide the perfect territory for the boar to thrive.

Unlike most European driven hunts, the shooting distances in Turkey are on average much further. Guns are placed further apart along the gun line and shooting areas much larger also.

Many clients choose to bring two firearms on our driven hunts, a rifle with a ‘red dot’ setup or shotgun with solid slugs for closer shots and a rifle with a distance setup for longer range shots. (there is no difference in cost travelling with two firearms as long as they are in the same case).

Turkish driven boar hunts are a very different experience to some of the more familiar European driven hunts.

Vast areas of mountain terrain and national parks are covered by beaters and dogs and gun lines spread over several km’s. Due to the expanse and unspoiled nature of the terrain it provides a brilliant habitat for large numbers of boar, big sounders and huge Keilers (male boar). Our most recent hunt produced numerous large pigs with one Keiler weighing over 300kg.

On average you will undertake 3 drives a day.

The areas that we hunt in Turkey are very far away from the tourist destinations. The local population are predominantly small scale farmers growing food for personal use and a modest income.

Wild boar are considered a pest, they are highly destructive and a sounder can destroy whole fields of crops in a single evening. The best and preferred method of controlling them is through driven hunting and night stalking over local farm fields. (Night stalking can be added onto an evening during a driven hunt)

Your UK host is Rob, owner of Benula Sporting. Rob spent a career in the military and has a passion for shooting which has spanned decades.

Rob prides himself of being professional and ensuring all clients have a fantastic service and an enjoyable hunt no matter what their experience.

We will only work with one reputable Turkish hunt operator. Tried and tested and with values similar to our own.

Flights are not included but we will take care of all aspects of booking flights. We do not charge any extra for this service. You will only pay what the flights cost and booking receipts are provided.

Alcohol an tips not included (recommended to €50 per day - this is divided between the beaters and dog teams)

Full escorted travel from London Heathrow to Sivas/Tokat airport. 1 x international and 1 x short connecting domestic flight. Ground transfers included to hotel and hunting grounds.

Benula Sporting will take care of all of your flight requirements unless you wish to make your own arrangements. (Flight class, seating preferences, firearms packages and baggage requirements catered for). We do not charge any fees for this service and you will receive the full cost breakdown and receipts of flight booking. Please note funds are required before any flight bookings can be made.

All documentation and permits are pre-authorised and Benula Sporting staff will be in possession of everything you need for a smooth transition from the UK to our final destination.
