Ryde Farm Estate is the Forte's private residence located in the beautiful Surrey countryside. Conveniently located only an hour from central London. This is a well established family shoot boasting over 40 years of shooting through the generations.
We have been delivering high quality pheasant and partridge shooting for the family, with a small number of exclusive and highly successful let days which are now growing in number.
For the past 3 seasons we have successfully started building up a great reputation for hosting let days and this has gone from strength to strength.
The estate covers 2,000 acres of rolling slopes made up of woodlands and farmland, with a beautiful and newly developed lake drive.
We have 15 drives that make the most of the natural surroundings to deliver excellent driven shooting that ensures to leave your barrels hot and a smile on your face.
We have carefully selected the strain of pheasant we put down to best suit the topography of the land which has left us with an extremely athletic and fast flying pheasant.
We pride ourselves on the excellent hospitality we provide to our guests; from the service to the lovely dishes prepared and cooked by the onsite private chef.
Depending on your choice of day, there are bacon rolls with tea and coffee on arrival, followed by champagne elevenses. These will be sure to keep you going until you are served your beautifully presented canapés before a 3 course lunch with accompanying wines from the cellar.
The shoot is conveniently located only 10 minutes from the M25 and an hour from central London.
Topography
Whilst we might be classed as a lowland shoot, we have spent years developing our drives using the best features of our land.
Sloping hills and game crop placement, plantations and woodland management provide excellent quality birds and exciting shooting.
The newly created lake drive offers something a little different as well as a picturesque setting.
Conservation Efforts
Here at Ryde Farm Estate we are very proud of the conservation projects we undertake annually. This includes woodland creation and re-stocking to increase woodland cover and improve the habitat for fauna.
With miles of ditches and rich undergrowth in our bountiful woodland, we have seen a significant increase in the number of woodcock, with the marshy ground providing rich pickings.
We run hedgerow projects which provide great nesting places and shelter for small birds and insects to thrive.
This year we have planted over 20 acres of wild bird seed mix that not only provides food and shelter for insects and birds, but has the added bonus of looking stunning in the summer months!
The wet grassy land has also proved a successful nesting ground for Lapwing, with their numbers soaring.

Thank you for a wonderful day yesterday. Dave, my loader was perfect, I think I shot my fair share of birds. I picked out some very high birds and brought them down so that was pleasing. I enjoyed it a lot, it beats traveling down to Somerset. The keepers have done a great job, I could see all the new pens and the work around the lake, tree clearance and flushing points thank them for me - and also the army of beaters.

Honestly - thanks again to Carl. That was a well-organised day and the birds trickled out well and flew well. I know a lot of hard work goes into producing that. Hope it helps to know that it gives people a lot of good memories !

I loaded for my client who really enjoyed the day . When the wind picked up we had some quality birds that proved testing and challenging without being ridiculous. Excellent catering from start to finish and a lovely setting . A well run operation and friendly staff .

The day did not fail to impress. The breakfast and elevenses were second to none. We shot four drives and the birds didn’t stop coming! I wasn’t sure that shooting in Surrey would be that challenging. How wrong I was. There were birds for all abilities. The last drive was incredible and definitely put me in my place. The day was fantastic, and I would like to thank Nick, Maree, and all the team for looking after us so well. I have already pencilled in my dates for next season.
