Waldegrave Farm Shoot is a convivial shoot set in beautiful undulating Suffolk countryside near Bury St Edmunds. We are offering walked up/rough days of 40-60 birds for 6 guns. Waldegrave Farm Shoot was shortlisted for the Purdey Wildlife and Conservation award in 2001 and puts great emphasis on looking after the environment in which it is set to improve habitat. We welcome young guns and can organise instruction by arrangement. We shoot 6 guns and include substantial elevenses and lunch at the end of the day. We are flexible on dates throughout the season so please do contact us if you would like to bring a team of six guns or would like to join a team as a single gun. We have Bed and Breakfast accommodation should you require overnight stays. A very warm welcome awaits you.
Hospitality
We provide substantial elevenses and then pre lunch drinks followed by lunch at the end of the day. We normally finish shooting at 2pm then lunch is finished at approximately 3.30pm.
Topography
We are set in the alps of Suffolk with woodland planted at the top of fields and birds driven back over the valley. We have some beautiful meadows with the Chad Brook running through the entire farm.
About the hosts
Will and Lu have been building up the shoot and hosting days here for the last 25 years and very much enjoy giving our guests a unique and convivial days shooting.

If you are looking for something different...then this is perfect. Plenty of game around in walk up style of shooting. Very charming and friendly hosts and excellent lunch at the end of the day. Top notch fun and well worth a try.

A very enjoyable day with an intimate, family feel and friendly hosts and staff. First day of the season and a good amount of birds at a sporting range. There was also plenty of opportunity for guns to work their dogs. All drives a within walking distance so be prepared for long periods on your feet! Relaxed drinks and a good lunch at the end of the day in the hosts lovely home.

What a gem! Everyone at Waldegrave worked so hard to provide our whole team with cracking shooting. The shooting was followed by truly exceptional hospitality from our hosts William and Lucilla. A personal taxi was provided for me as I can only walk 100 metres now. My grateful thanks for a memorable shooting day. Fuel the MULE, I'll be back!

A family run shoot which concentrates on providing quality birds and value for money, plenty of birds were shown on each drive and the guns were selective which was good to see. The bag on the day could have been higher but the team of guns showed grace by being very selective, it was also the first shoot of the season. The day was finished with an excellent meal back at the farmhouse which was thoroughly enjoyed by all, we also stayed 2 nights with our hosts in their B & B, would highly recommend. Many thanks to Will & Lu, keep up the good work.
