Fisherwick Conservation & Shooting Club. A small , friendly & long established mainly pheasant & duck shoot near Lichfield,Staffordshire. We shoot over 2000 acres of mixed farmland , lakes , ponds and woodland and enjoy landowner support with several cover crop locations. Other quarry  from time to time including wood pigeon , geese & snipe with various wild species of duck including teal and widgeon . Pest control is available and year round wood pigeon shooting. Winner of Purdey Award for up and coming shoot 2015 .

Guns with dogs are preferable but all licensed guns are welcome . There are usually 12 official shoots during the season with expected average bags of 100 birds. Beaters wanting to work their well behaved dogs are also welcome .

We are a co-operative shoot that has been set up purely for the enjoyment of the members and run by them with the help of friends of the shoot . Off season we meet most Saturdays to do a few hours work on the shoot .

Let Days are no longer available as our landowners get first option but please enquire as we occasionally also have spare pegs during the season on Club days which are usually on a Saturday

Please make contact for further information, including any odd days, or syndicate spaces for next year.

Hospitality

11’s is a highlight of the day .. members typically add their homemade offerings which has resulted in 11’s developing into a veritable feast

Topography

Woods , coppices and covers for pheasants over mainly arable land which is mainly flat. We are bordered by the river Tame offering some wild options and enjoy 2 lakes and 4 ponds for our reared and strong wild numbers.

Conservation Efforts

The Club work in conjunction with our landowners to achieve a good environment for all wild animals and we have seen a return of some species and strong numbers of hare , rabbit and muntjac . A great variety of wild bird species including sighting of white egret , sparrow hawk , barn owl and buzzard . There has even been sightings of kite.

About the hosts

Richard Rowe is the gamekeeper and shoot captain whom started the shoot over 35 years ago and built it up from a walked up rough shoot to one of the most highly regarded syndicate shoots in the Midlands . He is ably supported by a committee whom help to run a smooth day which invariably ends up with the bag and some great and sporting shooting.

I was one of the guns on your Let day, last Monday and I would just like to thank you for giving me such a wonderful days sport. The weather was kind, the birds were flying well and the beaters and putters up did an excellent job. It was also very nice to see total integration between guns and beaters as so often there is that totally unnecessary separation of the two. I was very impressed that ALL of the days bag was evenly distributed amongst everyone present and not just a single miserly brace per gun with nothing for the beaters who do such an essential job. Finally if you are thinking of organising any more such days in the future I would be most gratefull to be considered. Once again many thanks.
