The diverse terrain of South Africa’s malaria free Eastern Cape is home to over thirty five species of plains game that includes the elusive caracal, plus Cape bushbuck and Cape grysbok, two species not found elsewhere in Africa. Game rich areas are suitable for the first time hunter to Africa, father/son combinations where the price is important, or the serious trophy hunter that wishes to collect an elusive trophy. Whilst hunting is relatively easy it remains challenging and first class trophies are the norm. Hunting is open throughout the year but the months of June through to October are the best. Plains game hunting can be combined with river and ocean fishing and/or bird shooting. It is also possible to combine hunting with a visit to one of the numerous game parks in the area that include Addo Elephant Park and various Big Five Private Reserves. Hunt plains game just 40 minutes drive from Port Elizabeth on Longhills, a very attractive 4400 acre property in prime kudu country in the hills close to Addo. This area consistently produces some of the Cape’s biggest kudu bulls
Trophy fees are quoted in Rand for both management and trophy animals. For overseas hunters this is a huge bonus and provides great value for money. Hunters are able to choose from a selection of species as opposed to a management package where a single species is offered. You will be able to choose between trophy or management animals and pay accordingly
