I found John Haines through Guns on Pegs. It was very easy to communicate with John before the shooting to make arrangements for the evening which I really appreciated as I was travelling for 2.5 hours to get there. Before the shoot John advised me what to expect and he subsequently delivered a really fantastic evening which was in no small way due to his incredible local knowledge of the deer movement and environment. John provided good, safe mentoring and was happy to share his knowledge with me which was much appreciated. John’s experience and welcoming, encouraging personality enabled him to deliver as good an evening of sport as hoped for. John then arranged trophy mounting at a very reasonable price. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend John to anyone looking for a reasonably priced experience in thoroughly knowledgeable and pleasant company.

I have spent a number of evenings shooting with John and it has been a great pleasure. John knows the land very well and has come to understand how the deer move. As a BDS Advanced Deer Manager he is very well placed to guide novice stalkers and his knowledge of deer is fantastic and it has been great to be able to learn from such an experienced stalker, and one who is enthusiastic and very willing to impart his knowledge onto others. The land over which John has rights is stunning, and provides a beautiful backdrop for a morning or evening stalk. I have stalked Red, Silka and Fallow in Ireland, and John managed to provide me with my first Roe on my very first outing. As a novice stalker you can't ask for better than that. Everything from the initial meet to the final goodbye was planned to a tee, with a liberal supply of water, handwash and blue roll to clean up post grollach. I hope to have more outings with John in the future as I work towards my DSC2 qualification. You cannot possibly go wrong with North Somerset Stalking, they are able to cater for the novice and experienced stalker alike! Thank you.

JH has a fantastic knowledge of the beautiful ground over which he has stalking rights. He also understands deer behaviour and has an uncanny ability to predict where and when the animals will appear. He is passionate about managing his ground and the welfare of the animals there as well as being excellent company. You won't go wrong with North Somerset Stalking.

I've stalked with JH many times. After very little time with him, his knowledge is overwhelming. He is very easy be on an outing with and, has produced many fantastic shots for me. One of which is me with the buck in the picture. Anybody would be honoured to go out with this man. Thanks again.

I've stalked roe buck and does on many occasions in many parts of the country I would be hard pressed to find such a friendly and knowledgeable professional as JH. His hospitality is second to none, his manner is easy the ground offers many opportunity's over a good variation of flat easy going to more challenging terrain. Manys the time i've shot more than one animal per outing. Good all round sport
