Buckland Shoot is based in the rolling Blackdown Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, covering some 2000 acres of stunning Devon and Somerset Countryside. The Shoot has been running for over 30 years and has really excelled in the last couple of years which has enabled us to offer a bespoke days shooting. We are a young and enthusiastic team who offer tailor made days to suit each team of Guns. Our days range from 200-500 birds, and include Driven Pheasant and Partridge days and solely Driven Duck days.
This Shoot offers great hospitality along with a friendly yet professional atmosphere, our ultimate aim is to send you home with a smile on your face and feeling full with good food and good shooting! We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Hospitality
Guns will be well looked after throughout the day and will not go home hungry or thirsty. Guns can enjoy, a warming field lunch and dinner and dessert at the end of the day, all homemade and using local produce.
Topography
The topography of the land lends itself well to show a good variety of birds which challenges all shooting abilities. The Shoot is made up of vast amounts of rolling grass farmland hills, combined with wooded areas and game cover which offers a mixed days sport.
About the hosts
We are a young and enthusiastic couple who have been running Buckland Shoot for many years now. The shoot is based on Toms family farm and he has been interested in shooting from a very young age. We are involved in every aspect of the shoot, including all the bookings, rearing all the birds, preparing the shoot meals, gamekeeping and hosting you on your day. We believe this rare approach really ensures we are able to offer you the best day we possibly can.

Tom and his team put on an excellent day in testing conditions as a SouthWesterly storm was building. Everyone we met was polite & hospitable and they presented some super birds. What really struck me as a gun with a young cocker spaniel that is still learning the ropes, is that every single picker up behind me, came to ask me what & how many birds I would like to pick up with my youngster on each drive. They were very happy to wait for me to pick a couple of birds before sweeping through to collect the remainder. A really nice touch - thank you!!

An excellent day at Buckland with some challenging birds. Phil, Tom and Emily looked after us incredibly well during the day, and as always we were made to feel really welcome. We will be back again next year.

We had an excellent's day's shooting at Buckland. All arrangements in advance of the day (including advice on local accommodation) were handled very efficiently by Emily. On the day of the shoot we were met at the very comfortable lodge by Tom and Emily and Tom was on hand at all times to organise the guns and to ferry us from drive to drive in the gun bus. The drives were quite varied in terms of landscape (hillside, open field, woodland) and, without exception, thoroughly enjoyable with plenty of challenging birds. We were well looked after with coffee on arrival, a light outdoor lunch after the third drive and an early supper when we got back to the lodge at the end of the day. Many thanks to Emily and Tom. We will be back next year!

We had the day booked as one team - despite the weather, Tom, Emily and their team presented some great birds, with some very nice pegs/drives. Good team of picker ups, with some excellent retreives! A lot of Pheasants getting in the mix, but after the first drive we were able to be more selective and try for the Partridges! Well run day, with the team managing the drives well to make sure we had 5 drives with the bag well in control.Lunch in the Gun Bus was very welcomed (hot food and Chanpagne!), and the Dinner after the final drive was superb. A very satisfactory day, and many thanks again to Tom and Emily. Recommended!
