Shooting in Europe bases its Slovakian operations from beautiful Chateau Bela. From Chateau Bela we have shooting rights at a number of renowned local estates. Driven pheasant shooting is offered from mid October but is principally conducted from November through to February. We are privileged to have the pheasant shooting rights on five historic estates and combine with them the opportunity for first class dining and accommodation facilities. Typically shooting begins at around 09:30 am with approximately 6 drives being shot during the course of the day, but this is dependent on progress of the bag and the time of year. Each day is held at a different estate. Our estates are able to use their outstanding topography to show challenging and spectacular birds from a mix of established woodland and strategically sited cover crops. Each gun will be assigned a loader who will take care of your guns, cartridges and score your birds. Each drive is opened and closed by a group of traditional horn blowers.
Light refreshments are served in the field after the second drive of the day.
Lunch is served including drinks, a hot meal of local specialty followed by dessert with tea and coffee in the lodges located within each estate. Every lodge is adorned with different trophies and has its own character.
Non-shooting guests are welcome and will either join the guns on the shoot or will be taken to local sights.
'In the forests of Slovakia the shoot ends much like it begins: at a fire to the tune of three horns bleating an ancient song of the hunt. Slovaks call this the vryad —a ceremony to honor the guests, evoke the spirit of the chase, and honor the birds that have brought shooters thousands of miles across oceans and continents to a remote valley in a half-known land in Central Europe.' (The Birds of Slovakia, VIC VENTER)

Mr Paul Chapman
Shooting in the Czech Republic transports you back into a different world, but whilst the culture, castles and views are a world away from shoots back home, the shooting is just as challenging and enjoyable. From the sounds of the hunting horns in the chill morning air, through the varied and high quality local food (and beverages!) at lunch to the formality of the end of day speeches and respectful toast to the bag, complete with blazing logs, the day is a very special one indeed. Our team has shot in the region on multiple occasions and each time have been afforded a warm welcome and come away with new stories to share with our colleagues who unfortunately weren’t able to join us. The journey to the Republic is quick and, in our book, most definitely worth the effort.
