The Monkopton Sporting Estate is purpose built shooting ground. Supporting driven pheasant and wild duck flighting as it’s predominant sport, but with a wide variety of other wild species of bird found in large numbers on the estate. All Pheasants are reared on the grounds by the head keeper ensuring only quality of birds are released. Bags between 100-200 are advised. Average ratio of 4:1 shots.
Hospitality
Meeting at the local village pub for an optional breakfast will start off the day. You will be guided through your day by the shoot owner with a break down of what to expect from each drive. Complimentary drinks will be supplied throughout the day. Hot soup and a picnic will also be supplied at dinner time. After shooting has finished you will be invited back to the village pub for drinks and a meal if you so wish. A Monkopton Sporting Esate game card will be supplied to all guns with total bag, drives and shots.
Topography
The Monkopton Sporting Estate is situated between Bridgnorth and Much Wenlock set in a idyllic shooting landscape. With many of the drives having been copses planted specifically for the design of a shooting Estate it allows pheasant shooting to flow with a natural look. Strategically placed cover crops, grasious valleys and well positioned woodland allows the Estate to produces extremely challenging birds that can test the most confident of shots.
About the hosts
An extensive knowledge of the ground is always expected of the host. You will be guided through your day with the shoot owner who works extremely closely with the head keeper, beaters and pickers up to ensure the most can be brought to you from your days shooting at The Monkopton Sporting Esate.
