The Marches shoot is a family run shoot offering mainly pheasant and one duck drive providing open, woodland and lakeside shooting, there is also one other drive of walked up Snipe depending on weather and Snipe numbers. The mixture of drives offers birds at all different heights meaning you can select the birds your comfortable shooting or to challenge yourself.
The day starts with coffee and bacon/sausage sandwich, and the obvious port on peg draw, We then move to our first drive normally followed by a drink to allow the beating/picking team to Sweep through and get ahead for the next drive, Normally 1 or 2 drives after this before lunch, which usually consists of a venison stew and the beer table which you can help your self to. We then after feeling full and warmed up, slowly head down to our last drive which usually is our duck drive, which does consist of pheasant aswell for those who prefer not to shoot duck, although our ducks do behave like wild duck not the typical circling around trying to land.
We can stand between 6 and 10 pegs, at £1800 for the day with a £500 deposit.
If the day goes above expectations and the team have their eye in, averages are charged at £30 per bird on top of the 50 bird bag.
Local pubs to retire to after the day for drinks or food.
My sons (age 11) process all birds that are left on the day and offer anyone at the end of the day oven ready game for a small fee, or help your self to birds in the feather.
Overall we offer a very friendly, relaxed day out for all shooting capabilites. Turn up with your gun and cartridge and leave with a smile and good memories of the day out.
