I paid my deposit of 50% to Severn shooting in 2022 for the 22/23 shooting season. I was e mailed by them to say they could no longer give me ie live shooting due to a range of excuses/reasons and was offered either a simulated day or a rollover to 2023/24. I accepted the latter. I have this season been singularly unsuccessful in getting anyone from Severn sporting to respond to my request and am currently considering legal action and contacting the police regarding fraud. Disappointing in the extreme as I was reasonable in the first year.

Great day in challenging and changing conditions. Started the day on a couple of drives that built some confidence on the cartridge/kill ratio but that soon got tested on the later drives with soaring turbo charged birds - awesome. Also a wooded drive for some snap shooting that ensured a varied day. Beaters did an excellent job and mastered the squalling weather and the picker up's had radar qualities. Ed and Becky fronted an excellent day along with their team and there was always a drink on hand !

First time in Shropshire, my brother and I shared a peg. Wonderful terrain and a very welcoming , friendly, accommodating team Ed and co. The fellow guns were all excellent shots and a fantastic bunch. High quality birds driven beautifully in a controlled manner over gorgeous countryside, the birds were high and fast . It’s clear Ed and the team know exactly how to run a shoot. I would highly recommend this shoot to anyone , we will certainly be back. Fantastic dinner after in a beautiful house , was a privilege, thank you all for a fantastic day.

Picked this day up as a cheap day due to another team cancelling. You have to pay upfront so be aware. All the drives seemed very empty especially for their second day of the season. The first drive presented the most birds however there were very few that were sporting the majority sticking very low. I only fired 2 cartridges and several guns did not fire any however we felt this could have been due to the sun behind the line. However the second drive produced even less birds and more of the same low birds. The 3rd drive was better however there still seemed to be a shortage of birds for a shoot offering 200 bird days twice weekly. 4th drive was also quiet. The 5th drive was a woodland drive which the leaf cover didn’t make it a bery enjoyable drive for many of the guns. All the drives seemed to be very short and over in one flush. Ed apologised after the first drive but then fell quiet until the end of the day. Hospitality was average however the beaters were very friendly and it was nice to have someone come over for a chat! We were a group of 5 guns with 4 guns not part of our group who all felt the same way. They offered no reimbursement or offer of discount on another day not that any of would come back. This may just be a one off event and a bad day however, there was very few birds and Ed didn’t really attempt to make the day more enjoyable through hospitality and didn’t entertain our attempt to talk with him about the day and as we had paid upfront we didn’t really have any thing to negotiate with. Overall we felt that this shoot is not worth £48 a bird and it was not a good day.
