Buildwas Park offers outstanding shooting in the Shropshire hills. Beautiful scenery with Wenlock Edge and the Wrekin in view and the River Severn snaking along the valley bottom.
Stunning scenery with steep wooded drives offering sporting pheasants and some partridge too. You may be standing in the open looking at a wood on top of a steep bank with towering pheasants taking long gliding flights above you, or standing below one of the gamecrops on undulating arable land with both partridge and pheasant overhead. Buildwas Park is privately owned and has been a quality established shoot run by the owner for many years.
Format for the day
Meet at 8.45am for tea / coffee, shoot brief
Then move off for the first 2 drives. Guns can use their own 4x4s as all drives are easily accessible.
The first 2 drives will be followed by 11’s with snacks, drinks and soft drinks.
A further 2 drives follow before returning to the main house for lunch. We normally finish on a cracking drive with challenging pheasants on one of our signature drives.
It’s then back to the main house for afternoon tea with sandwiches and cake. The Keeper will then come to the house to offer the guns game.
Guns must hold a valid shotgun certificate and BASC or equivalent Insurance.
We aim to provide a full and fun days sport regardless of bagsize . Should you want to increase bag on the day this will be agreed with host and other guns at the start of the day . A clicker will be used during the course of the day to keep track of shots/bag ratio.
Individual guns or teams catered for.
Should you require accommodation then please do ask us for recommendations locally. Additionally a Full English Cooked breakfast can be recommended at a local pub.
Hospitality
11’s and Lunch for 9 guns included in the price for days of 180 and over. Extra guests are chargeable at £30 a head. Lunch is 3 courses with main, pudding and cheese. Days booked at under 180 birds lunch isn’t included but can be provided at £30 a head.
Topography
Buildwas Park is lucky to have the tail end of the Wenlock Edge running through it.Wenlock Edge is a steep limestone escarpment that runs from Craven Arms through to Much Wenlock.
Birds are flown off the top of the wooded edge and so they make for some excellent shooting . On other drives you stand in deep wooded gulleys cleared for shooting . These drives offer great testing snap shooting. There are platforms due to the steep topography so you have a nice flat spot and good balance, for the birds flying above the treetops.
About the hosts
The owners host the shoot and will be on hand to run the day and host guns at lunchtime and tea.
