Aline Estate is an 8,000-acre estate on the sea on the Isle of Lewis (bordering the Isle of Harris) in the Outer Hebrides. Its topography is moorland and mountains, with long, sloping moors of heather and moss, bordering Loch Seaforth, a long sea loch exiting into the Little Minch.

Aline also has sporting rights over neighbouring land with an additional 1,600 acres. Aline also contains a 600-acre uninhabited island in Loch Seaforth.

Sport includes deer stalking from summer till January (stags ending and hinds commencing October 20). The stalking occurs either on one of Aline's several hills or in the Aline forest.

From September till December 10, Aline shoots grouse over pointers. The Estate has English pointers and several other dogs for retrieving. A typical day might bring 5 brace for two to three guns.

From early November through January, we shoot both driven and walked up woodcock.  A typical woodcock shoot would be two full days of driven woodcock for 5 to 6 guns, assisted by a like number of beaters and dogs. Bags depend partly on the weather and partly on the guns' skill. Some days we flush 80 to 100 birds. Typically the day ends at dusk and near darkness as we flight woodcock emerging from the forest as they move to night-time feeding in adjacent lochs and streams.  We also may end a day with duck and geese flighting on one of our two duck ponds.

It is possible to organize mixed days combining grouse, woodcock, and deer stalking. Earlier in the season, we combine salmon with grouse and stags. Salmon are caught on one of the estate's three spate rivers or on Loch Langavat (which finishes Oct 15) on which Aline has three miles of shoreline and two boats.

Accommodation is in the main lodge for most shooting parties, let on a fully catered basis. At the discretion of the Estate, parties may let stalking together with one of the several cottages. Grouse, woodcock, and salmon sport can be let only with the lodge. Aline Lodge is a recently refurbished (2009/10) eighteenth-century stone building bordering the sea, with 6 bedrooms, five and half bathrooms, several reception rooms, gunroom, and snooker room. Nearby is a sauna building by the water's edge, boathouse, and byre.

The head keeper at Aline is Niall Robertson, assisted by a trainee keeper.
