Powis Castle Shoot is set amongst 3,000 acres of stunning Mid-Wales countryside, just west of Welshpool and in the grounds of Powis Castle where the steep valleys and tree lined pastures are ideally suited to shooting.
The estate offers excellent quality, high testing pheasant shooting. Powis Castle can provide single or double days with a choice of over 50 named drives including Kings, High Stand, Woodcock Bank and Pen-y-foel, enabling days to be tailored to suit all abilities and test even the most accomplished of shots.
The bag for a team of 6-10 Guns can be varied from 150 to 300 + birds per day according to the time of the season.

Under new management and I could not recommend highly enough. We shot in strong winds and the birds were fantastic, driven over grassland from high woodland. James and his team put on a fantastic day. Our team have shot 3 times with James this season

Very well organised, no fuss and bother, very unassuming and reassuring so. We shot on a still cloudy damp day, trees still heavily leafed up and it made no difference to the quality of the flushing birds, no difficulty holding back for the quality which was obviously going to flow... any wow did it. Couldn’t do enough for our team on the day and shall return! Thanks everyone.

This was the first time we had shot at Powys Castle, Peter and his team gave us a warm welcome. I must say it was probably one of the best days shooting this season, quality birds all day, great hospitality, and very relaxed all-round. The views from the shoot lodge are something to die for and the food served at dinner was absolutely wonderful, I have nothing put praise for Peter and his team, we will definitely be back. I have been very fortunate to either be a gun in other peoples teams, or as in December take my own day. This shoot is well run by helpful, pleasant and knowledgeable people. Wonderful ground to shoot over with a good selection of challenging birds to pick from. Weather permitting, a lunch in the Summerhouse is a real treat.
