Maesmawr Hall is a traditional driven pheasant and partridge shoot, steeped in history and boasting absolute charm and architectural elegance. The birds at Maesmawr are of consistently high quality, all set within the most beautiful parkland surroundings.
Sporting lodges:
A great day’s shooting usually starts the night before when the team meet, it’s a great opportunity to have everyone in one room to discuss the latest news with family and friends and of course to talk about next day tactics from cartridges to choke sizes.
The two purposed built sporting lodges both have eight en-suite bedrooms which is suited for team days, while Bettws Hall house has five en-suite rooms which is ideal for individual guns shooting on the roving syndicate. Both lodges and house have a private dining room, sitting room, drying room and of course not forgetting access to the spa room which is fully equipped with a hot tub, sauna and massaging facilities. Each lodge has it’s own first class chef providing delicious local produce and fine wine from all corners of the world, there is also a broad selection of bar drinks to chose from to relax with before dinner.
There will always be reliable staff members to meet and greet you upon arrival and to of course to make you feel comfortable during your stay with us.
Hospitality
We pride ourselves on providing the finest hospitality on and off the field.
Our catering staff have a wealth of experience which enables them to produce the most exquisite canapés for elevenses, which is always accompanied by homemade soup, champagne and sloe gin.
Lunch is served on the shoot within a lodge or house which is always enchanting as you are fully immersed within the estate. The chefs produce a dinner of delectable dishes and serve appropriate wine that will complement the food.
We are more than willing to arrange transport, drivers, loaders, instructors, accommodation, and any other requirements that will enhance your shooting trip.
Birds
Beautifully presented birds across the whole line, situated amongst ancient woodlands, rolling hills and skyline treetops. Birds between 35 - 65 yards.

Ancient woodlands set in parkland countryside make Maesmawr Hall one of the most beautiful and quintessential British shooting estates available anywhere.

I was lucky enough to be part of this day as a single gun. Made most welcome from the night before with full Bewtts Hall hospitality, nothing was too much trouble. The day was faultless with plentiful good quality birds throughout, great company and made to feel very special. Would have no hesitation in recommending a visit.

The hospitality, accommodation, food, service, quantity and quality of birds were all excellent. A team of experienced guns had 1506 shots for 287 birds this demonstrates the quality of birds presented on the day. Will definitely be returning next season.

I shot at Maesmawr for the first time this season, I have previously shot at Gregynog Hall (another estate in the Bettws Hall portfolio) and whilst I received the same fantastic hospitality, the estates were quite different. Maesmawr Hall is stunning, as are the grounds and surroundings. The views are spectacular from certain points and the converted stable block was a great place for a delicious and hearty lunch. The shooting was mixed across all drives, a good number of birds at varying heights and speeds. A drive named 'Fron/Vron Green' ended our day with the most spectacular show of birds I've witnessed all season. I will be returning next season.
