Llwyn Madoc offers the very best in high Pheasant and Partridge shooting, located a mile to the northwest of the village of Beulah, in the shadow of the Cambrian Mountains, just a few miles from Builth Wells. This attractive little town sits on the junction of the Rivers Wye and Irfon and is the gateway to the wilderness beyond.
The approach to Llwyn Madoc manor house is simply stunning and as you turn off the winding country lanes onto the estate it becomes apparent that these birds are going to be seriously testing; this is big country. The ground is very steep and everywhere you look you can picture stratospheric pheasants crossing the valleys.
The shoot is set amongst 3,000 acres of breath-taking countryside and is made up of varied terrain, ranging from steep rolling grass banks to deep rocky sided valleys. So, whether your preference is for very high partridges off bracken banks, extremely tall pheasants over woodland rides or pheasants towering high above ancient trees in open parkland, we have something to please all guns.
On arrival breakfast is served at the shoot lodge where we draw our pegs for the day. We aim to be on our pegs for the first drive by 9.45 and normally shoot two drives before returning to the shoot lodge for elevenses. After the refreshment break the remaining drives take place. We then return to the shoot lodge for afternoon tea whilst we await the head keeper with the final scores. Alternative catering packages are available to include lunch to further enhance your experience with us.
We are more than happy to show prospective clients around the shoot out of season and can recommend a range of local accommodation either here at Llwyn Madoc or in the wider community should your team wish. If you are looking for a high-quality shoot with magnificent accommodation for your guests, look no further.
The days shooting will be confirmed on payment of a deposit followed by payment in full before the day. We can offer days of between 200-300 birds from the 1st October onwards, subject to availability.
This is high bird shooting at its best.
