Hunting in Portugal is considered by many overseas hunters as one of the Hunting's Best-Kept Secrets.
The Red Legged Partridge (Alectoris rufa), being relatively abundant allover Portugal, and due to its behavior, it’s the most emblematic and considered the Queen of the small game.
On our driven hunts, we commit ourselves to provide the hunter a fully experience of the strength, speed and wilderness of our partridge.
After a full breakfast we head to the hunting grounds for the first couple of drives. By midmorning we serve the so called “taco”, of typical snacks and drinks, under the Portuguese winter sun and after that we do another drive. A lunch of local cuisine is served in the lodge and hunters enjoy two more drives in the afternoon.
PH-Portugal Hunting, Lda. offer other small and big game hunts and combine them with a cruise along the Douro River, a diner at a Top Class restaurant in the area, a lunch at a wine farm and a visit to the Port Wine cellars for wine tasting the world renowned Tawny wine.
Topography
The average altitude in the hunting area is 300m (1,000ft) above sea level. The terrain consists of rolling hills and valleys with a preponderance of oaks, gum/pine trees and/or low bushes.
