INTRODUCTION
For generations shooting at the Wiejce Palace Estate was available only to the owning families and their friends, but today this prime sporting estate is open to visitors. Set in Poland on the plains between Warta River and Notecka Forest, just two hours away from Berlin and an hour from Poznan, Wiejce is convenient to reach. Our guest guns can enjoy a wide range of shooting on some 80.000 acres of fields and woodland in the stunning countryside surrounding the palace.
The Wiejce estate offers a very wide variety of shooting which stretches from wildfowling and driven pheasant to walked up deer and driven boar shooting. Our pheasant and boar drives are the result of generations of gamekeepers who aimed at providing prime quality sport. We charge for shooting per person and have also separate rates for non-shooting guests accompanying the guns. You can come by yourself and join other guest shots or with a party of friends. For inexperienced shots we are able to provide very experienced loaders/coaches who are terribly friendly and encouraging.
YOUR DAY
The day will start with an early breakfast in the conservatory where you can enjoy the view of the sun rising over the fields. Next, after meeting the beaters, traditional hunting horns will sound and the day will officially commence. You will be taken to the first couple of drives which will be followed by an elegant lunch at the palace. Once recovered you will enjoy another couple of drives and then be treated to an afternoon tea in the main hall. The day will conclude with a 4 course dinner in the dining room. Wiejce shoot is a very good value day out for fabulous sport, relaxed hosts, beautiful surroundings and good craic.
KINDS OF SHOOTING
Walked up shooting
Walked -up or rough shooting is one of the most popular, rewarding forms of live quarry shooting. The woodland around Wiejce provides for excellent country for this type of shooting which takes place during the winter months. This adrenaline-driven shooting is organised at night during full moon and the guns are accompanied by our expert guides who help them get on the trail. It takes place also with the help of scent hounds.
Driven boar shooting
Driven shoots are organised between early November and mid January. A day out usually consists of around 10 drives. You'll be wild boar hunting in some of the most beautiful land in Central Europe in one of the biggest European forests. Our breeding success story is not only the result of generations of Jagermeisters and keepers following strict programs, but also of the fact that the local area provides perfect habitat for them to thrive.
Wild boar are true survivors and despite the pressures imposed by the modern world on so many wildlife species, the population of this animal has increased across Europe and particularly in Poland. In western Europe their populations tend to be less than 5 animals per square kilometre, whereas in Poland the density is greater and ten animals per square kilometre have been recorded on the estate.
