Fantastic driven pheasant and duck shooting. Roe and Red deer stalking with some great bucks and stags. Rough shooting for pheasant and woodcock.
We are a 3,000 acre estate in Perthshire near Gleneagles. There are two steep valleys with small speight rivers running through them which lends itself to some of the most stunning driven pheasant shooting in Scotland. There are various ponds scattered up and down each valley and at the tops of the valleys which lends itself to a very unique driven duck shoot as well which can either come as only pheasants / partridge and mixed drives or mainly ducks to suit your preferences.
Combine this with some great rough shooting along with a variety of deer stalking, and we really do cover all bases for a truly memorable Scottish hunting experience which is very conveniently located less that 1 hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Locally there is all forms of accommodation from Gleneagles Hotel which is only 6 miles away to some very comfortable smaller hotels like The Royal in Comrie which is about 15 miles away.
Hospitality
We can offer full hospitality close-by and also suggest hotels and guesthouses in the area. The traditional elevenses and lunch will always be provided on shoot days.
Topography
Some steep and rolling country the two valleys. Also great rolling humps and bumps for rough shooting. Easy access to all drives and can cater for 'not so fit' people as required.
Conservation Efforts
The estate was originally plated by my Great Grandfather in the early 1900s specifically for field sports and we have continued the legacy by putting in various ponds which attracts many different species of wild ducks as well as fantastic ground for wading birds.
About the hosts
The commercial shoot was set up by my father in 1998 and has grown into a spectacular place to come and enjoy driven shooting where you are treated like part of the family. We are a family run business that is extremely passionate about providing excellent value for money and very memorable field sports experiences here in Scotland.

I shot at Braco for their final day of the season (and mine). The shoot was well run and organised. Very friendly team. They have a well-heated (!) wooden shooting lodge where we received a warm welcome, and dinner at the end of the day. Good elevenses after the third drive. Real mix of drives across different terrain, all very scenic. Shooting for all abilities. Wind was really blowing, which helped some drives and hindered others, but I think the keeper did a fantastic job to get birds to parts of the line where I wouldn't have thought they'd go. Across the six drives, everyone was very happy with the amount of shooting. We were lucky to be there on the final day of the season, with a very liberal attitude to the bag. Indeed, the number of birds was really very good for the end of January. I haven't booked for next year yet, but going on what I saw at the end of January, once I do start booking, here will be top of my list.

We visited Braco Castle on what was probably the wettest day of the shooting season and did not have high expectations. We were 4 guns in a team of 10 with a great mix of personalities and everyone got along great. We met in the purpose built shoot lodge for tea/coffee and initial briefing. David our host was clear and concise about the bag and also honest about the challenges the team faced showing birds on such a wet day. We shot 4 drives in some really challenging conditions including very strong cold easterly winds and driving rain, despite this David and the team showed some fantastic birds and made sure we got to the agreed bag. Food was first class all freshly prepared and cooked in the shooting lodge which is well laid out with log fire and dining area alongside couches and sitting area. This is a fantastic shoot with great hospitality and facilities and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

I shot two days back to back at Braco this January and was only sorry I couldn’t stay for another. David and his team are absolute professionals and great fun with it. More birds even at the end of the season than are often presented elsewhere on November days and a great mix of shots to bruise, challenge and comfort the ego. Cracking catering and one of the cosier lodges I’ve seen to boot. I’d thoroughly recommend you book a day at Braco Castle Estate (but only after I’ve secured my pegs for next season).
