Baddinsgill

You will be welcomed by Laura, our eldest daughter, who now lives in Baddinsgill House with her young family. She is the oldest of the fifth generation of the Marshall family. She loves catering, but before you get to witness the proof of that, you will be sat down in front of a roaring log fire with a warming drink in your hand!

Baddinsgill is located in a south facing basin, the land lying between 1000 and 2000 feet above sea level. the northern end of the estate is open moorland, with a reservoir in the middle, and all of the woods are centred around the southern end of the farm. with steeply sloping ground we can promise spectacular shooting!

Baddinsgill has been part of an agri environment scheme for almost 20 years, the main thrust of this being the management of heather moorland, but attention is also paid to wetland management, water margins, species rich grassland, and tall herb communities. We are close to receiving Wildlife Estates Scotland accreditation. All of our woodlands are sustainably managed, and every house on the estate is heated with renewable energy.

As indicated above successive generations of Marshalls have been deriving huge enjoyment from managing the shoot at Baddinsgill, and take great pride in offering spectacular shooting. We are ably assisted by our gamekeeper, Fraser Kay, a young man who brings a wealth of experience and real enthusiasm to the role.
