Fieldsports In Pakistan - Where Shikar Traditions Flourish

The vast fieldsports opportunities in Pakistan are now brought to international sportsmen through a collaboration of resposible associations, estates and gamefarms.

For a gun the sheer variety of game on offer is tremendous.

Black and Grey Francolin are the defining gamebirds of the indus plains. Combined with Chukor and See-see partridge, six species of Sandgrouse, Quail, superb Ring neck Dove shooting, Pakistan remains unparalleled in the richness of its wingshooting opportunities. Special mention must go to our well organized driven Snipe shooting. Expect to run through a few hundred rounds at high, driven Snipe while walking over perfectly dry, unboggy land!

For wildfowlers, being on the Internationally recognized Indus Migratory Waterfowl Flyway makes Pakistan the hidden wildfowling capital of the world. Waterfowling Shikar culture in Sindh is an ancient one steeped in tradition with the same lakes maintained during the British Raj being managed for wildfowling today. Shoot lakes from machans where viceroys and princes once swung thier best london guns at upto fifteen different species of wild duck including the unique Red crested pochard, Marbled teal, Pntail, Garganey teal, Ferrungous duck and others.

It is remarkable that such volume shooting still exists in this age based purely on wild stocks, and a collaboration of concerned associations and individuals with APF Gamebrids/Farming For Wildlife Pakistan have begun to rear Peasant and Redleg (non native) gamebirds as well. This pivotal project is the only one of its kind in Pakistan and will proceed to be the first commercial breeding operation for the fantastic Black and grey francolin. The advent of professional gamebird rearing now makes Pakistan the only destination worldwide where Black and Grey Francolin, pheasant, redleg partridge, quail and others may be shot in one drive! This gives an entirely new definition of "multi-quarry days!"

While all this leads to some of the most exciting and internationally unknown wingshooting in the world, Pakistan is already well known as a destination for international big game hunting and the holy grail for mountain shikar. We add stalking, high seats, and lamping for species such as Asian Wild Boar, Chital and Para Deer, Chinkara, Blackbuck and Nilgai antelope, Urial sheep, Sindh Ibex and other exclusive game limited to Pakistan to the already famous mountain game such as Markhor, Himalayan Ibex and Blue and Marco Polo Sheep.

Angling in Pakistan is covered by our sister organization - The Pakistan Game Fish Association.
