2,500 acre shoot in the south Oxfordshire Chilterns. 45 miles from central London (5 miles from exit 5 of M 40). 200 bird days shooting both partridges and pheasants with a team of eight guns. We are very lucky to have a number of small valleys and the topography to show top quality birds. The shoot has evolved over the years into a relatively small commercial shoot. We let 20 days a season, shooting once a week usually on a Tuesday. We are a relaxed shoot welcoming dogs and followers as long as they are well behaved! Though commercial, I like to think that the days have the feeling of a slightly old fashioned family day's shooting.
Hospitality
All drinks and food are included in the day. Coffee on arrival. Soup, pies and champagne for a 12 o'clock break. Drinks on returning to the farm followed by a late 2 course lunch cooked by a professional chef together with all wine and port.
Topography
The topography is very undulating with a number of small valleys that run towards the Thames Valley. This allows us to show top quality partridge and pheasants. Birds are mostly shown from woods or game covers.
About the hosts
Born on the farm 70 years ago and farmed here all my life. I have a passion for the environment and growing Christmas trees. I have a wife Jane and two daughters who both live and work in London. I like to think I run a relaxed, but high quality commercial shoot, which has the feel of a family day.
