A traditional family shoot with limited let days available: either full driven (Pheasant) or walked up (Pheasant, Grouse, Grey Partridge, Snipe, Woodcock and Duck). The shooting ground, which has been owned by the family for over 150 years, covers some 4000 acres with enough drives to easily fill back to back days. The shooting is amongst the best in Northumberland offering variety and challenge in stunning surroundings. No VAT is charged. The Estate can also provide accommodation.
Hospitality
Guns typically meet at the shoot room for coffee and briefing before setting out. Lunch can be taken in the shoot room or in the local pub (by arrangement). Elevenses are normally taken after the second or third drive.... Separate accommodation for guns on the Estate can be arranged, if wanted.
Topography
From the heather on the Fell ground, down the valley floor of the South Tyne, the shooting is exciting, challenging and varied. Drives cover ancient woodland, game strips, windswept belts and high valleys, as well as snap shooting in gullies!
