Longwitton Shoot

Longwitton Shoot is a well established mixed shoot covering approximately 2,400 acres. Blocks of woodland have been  positioned throughout the estate to provide habitats to ensure quality birds and testing shooting. This has been supplemented with game plots, mainly maize, to provide a variety of excellent drives. Guests will experience an enjoyable day in the beautiful Northumberland countryside. We provide driven partridge days starting in late September and begin shooting mixed days in late October.

We try to make our days as informal and relaxed as possible, on arrival guests will be met by our shoot host with a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee while introductions are made and a safety briefing is given. We then move to the first two drives. A quick stop for elevenses followed by two more drives and then back to the bothy for lunch.

Lunch takes place in our cosy purpouse built bothy complete with woodburner and bar. It is provided by the Otterburn Tower Hotel who send down a chef and waiter to serve drinks and delicious food. This service is provided free for eight guns on days of over 150 birds. In addition we can provide taylor made menus for thise who require it.

After lunch we head out for another drive, pick up and back for tea and tall stories.

Longwitton Shoot is under the same management as the acclaimed Otterburn Tower Hotel, therefore a days shooting can fit effortlessly into a longer break in Northumberland.

The Shoot is situated 20 miles North West of Newcastle upon Tyne. Collection from Newcastle Airport or Station can be arranged.

Personalised Shoot Card - At the end of the day, Guns will not only take away take away fond memories but also a personalised Shoot Card including a photograph of that days team of Guns.
