Pheasant

We are a friendly informal syndicate who have taken days at the Harehope Estate near Eglingham in Northumberland. It is a varied estate with some shooting over agricultural fields and some on open moorland. We take 200 birds days and shoot with eight guns. Owing to personal circumstances two syndicate members have had to pull out for the coming season, so we have two guns available on three days. There is no overage.

Hospitality

The cost of the day includes the elevenses (home-cooked by the keeper's wife) Lunch after the shoot is extra at cost on the day

Topography

Hilly terrain ranging from low moorland to riverside agriculture and well-wooded the ground is very well suited to shooting and the drives are plentiful and diverse

Conservation Efforts

The Estate is very conservation conscious. As our syndicate only takes a few days we do not get actively involved in that detail

About the hosts

The syndicate is very friendly, there is no competitive element, the keeper is very relaxed, the beat team are all good-natured and pleasant.
