Swindon Hall shoot engenders a friendly, family culture, many of our members love just being part of the day, enjoying the fresh air, the exercise and catching up with friends and family in a beautiful part of the countryside, with the added bonus of some great birds too!
Swindon Hall Shoot is not a large syndicate by any means, nor do we wish to be. Our shoot culture is based on enjoyment, trust and friendship amongst members, respect for the quarry and the countryside.
Hospitality
Refreshments are provided at the mid-day customary cock-stand, again provided by our members taking turns to organise, where you can enjoy a glass or two of port accompanied by some good old fashioned locally made pork pies, cheese and cakes! Following this, the best drives of the day are saved for last so members can finish on a high before the final drive - to the local pub to enjoy a pint of Yorkshire's finest ales!
Topography
Swindon Hall shoot is located near to Harewood House Estate, in Kirkby Overblow, Harrogate, covering some 300 acres of farmland, hedgerows, copse and streams, focusing around a deciduous woodland of around 35 acres.
About the hosts
Swindon Hall Shoot is run by a small (unpaid) management team to organise and run the shoot days. Members may be required to help on a few occasional work days (usually 3 - 4 mornings) leading up to the shoot season
