Deer

We Offer access to over 30,000 acres of exceptional Chinese Water Deer ground, providing everything from highly productive cull stalking to opportunities for some of the country's finest mature trophy bucks.

Topography

East Anglia offers some of the finest Chinese water deer habitat in Britain, with a unique mix of fertile arable farmland, extensive marshes, reedbeds, drainage ditches, rough grassland and pockets of woodland. Our stalking takes place across around 10,000 acres of premium water deer ground, with a further 20,000 acres of excellent supporting habitat. This scale and diversity allows us to offer very different stalking experiences, from productive stalking across farmland and wetlands to carefully selected areas holding mature trophy bucks. The combination of exceptional habitat, abundant food and extensive cover provides the ideal environment for Chinese water deer to thrive.

Species

Although this particular opportunity is focused around Chinese Water Deer, our areas in East Anglia do carry four of the other six species of deer found wild in the UK. Whilst on one of these Water Deer trips it would be very easy to organise stalks for Fallow, Muntjac, Roe Doe's or Red deer.

Gun hire & insurance

Insurance and gun hire is provided with all of our guided trips. For parties coming to take part in culling excursions, we prefer them to provide their own legal firearms and insurance.

About the hosts

Each day will be hosted by one or more members of the Wild Pursuits guiding team. Before each stalk, we provide maps of the hunting ground through MyHuntApp and arrange a suitable meeting point. Your host will explain the plans, discuss the ground and answer any questions before you set out.

If stalking as part of a team and spending time alone in a high seat, your host will remain in contact and be available should you need assistance.

After each session, animals will be collected and processed. We can provide guidance on venison preparation and trophy management, as well as recommendations for local food, drink and activities during your free time between stalks.

Non-shooting guests

Non hunting guests are very welcome, we will always accommodate them where it is feasible and safe to do so.
