Pheasant

We've been running a shoot here for more than a century and we're passionate about what we do. Tucked away in south Norfolk, we're lucky enough to have a river valley running through the estate. This amazing landscape has the ability to produce really sporting birds and provides wonderful scenery. We also shoot across traditional parkland fringed with ancient woodland as well as utilising large blocks of game cover. We only release pheasants as that suits our terrain best, but the quality of bird is always high. We charge £40 per bird and can put on either a 180 or 200 bird day, based on a 3:1 shot ratio.

Hospitality

All food and drink is included in the price. We serve sloe gin and sausage rolls for elevenses and a hot meal for lunch with beer, wine and gin & tonic.

Topography

The topography varies hugely. The River Tas runs through the middle of the estate, producing some terrific high birds. We also put in large blocks of game cover on the flatter land and have several woods which produce great sport.

Conservation Efforts

We are in various different environmental schemes including HLS and SFI. This means that we plant nectar mix, wild bird mix, manage hedgerows and maintain our mature woodland and grassland. Our full-time gamekeeper also keeps on top of predators which helps to protect our flourishing songbird population.

About the hosts

We've been farming the estate for four generations and are passionate about wildlife, conservation and sustainable agriculture. The shoot goes hand-in-hand with all of those themes and we really enjoy putting on enjoyable days shooting for our guests.
