South Pickenham Estate now has Sporting Days available.
Whether it be for corporate guests, groups of family and friends or roving syndicates, we pride ourselves on offering the combination of fine sport in a relaxed and informal atmosphere – all adding up to a memorable experience. It has only been in very recent years that the opportunity to enjoy the Estate has become available.
South Pickenham is a 7,500 acre privately owned Country Estate set in the heart of the beautiful Breckland countryside in peaceful South West Norfolk. We are close to the delightful market town of Swaffham and only 17 miles from Thetford and 30 miles from the wonderful City of Norwich. The Estate has a mixture of landscapes and habitats associated with arable farmland, together with extensive woodland providing fantastic conditions for pheasant and partridge shoots.
We can offer top quality mixed Pheasant and Partridge Days from October until the end of January. The sporting days we offer accommodate 8 guns with a bag quantity of your choice between 200 – 350 birds.
Price from £42.00 per bird plus Vat
The Home Farm Shoot Room is a wonderful venue and the building (dating from 1780) has been recently renovated, in a sympathetic style in keeping with the setting and purpose. It is furnished with truly outstanding refectory style tables, locally crafted using Oak harvested from South Pickenham Estate.
We can tailor your day to suit your requirements. As well as offering full catering, transport and loading services. A typical day would start between 8 and 8.30am at the Home Farm Shoot Room, for anything from morning coffee and tea and Bacon Rolls, to a full English breakfast.
Typically the first drive would commence around 9.30 am with a break in the field for warming snacks and Sloe Gin late morning. Following a good days sport, after the final drive, guests will return to the Shoot Room for a home cooked traditional English meal of their choice.
Please do get in touch if you require any additional information or would like to pop by to meet the keepers and see some of our drives.
Conservation Efforts
We have a large Countryside Stewardship scheme which and we actively encourage birds such as Stone Curlew to nest successfully on our land.
There is over 750 acres of woodland and we continue to plant more woodland every year.
We have employed a wildlife surveyor to survey the biodiversity on the Estate which gives an insight into the species of mammals, birds and insects that are present on our Estate.

Mr. simon gray
Hosted a small team for a semi driven day, and can recommend the shoot. Made to feel very welcome by Simon, Ryan and Andy, despite the day being a bit damp and windy, the birds fly very well providing excellent shots for the guns. It's always a bit daunting trying a new shoot, but we already have another day booked for the 28th January and look forward to more days in the 2023/24 season.
