Pheasant
Partridge

This is a lovely old shoot over 2500 acres over rolling country of mixed woodland and heath. Not for beginners - quite challenging birds at times and we like them killed properly! You'll shoot 150 or more with an excellent lunch and tea. You stay in my shooting lodge which has eight bedrooms, a large dining room, a drawing room and picturesque view over the pond. This was one of King George VI's favourite place to shoot. You'll find no reviews as I've only just put it on here, but happy to send you contact details for my loving customers!

Hospitality

Second to none! Very anti the modern conveyor belt notion of hospitality. You can take two days on the trot and stay in the big house, or stay in the lodge, or just rock up and do your business.

Topography

Rolling heathland and arable. Very varied. Some drives classic driven stuff out of woods with good birds seen from afar, others wizzing over hedgerows and scrub, some in woodland.

Conservation Efforts

LITTLE MASSINGHAM and Massingham Heath is one of the most important areas of conservation in the country. The owner is a founding trustee of Wild East Charity and has restored 1200 acres of heathland to its former glory.

About the hosts

Birkbeck family. Been here for a year or two. Friendly, informal. Open house.
