Topography

Norfolk is renowned for its flat landscape and Godwick is fairly flat but this does make for some excellent partridge shooting where the birds zing on the wind and test even the best of shots.

About the hosts

James Garner is the owner of Godwick Hall, which is a fine country house in Norfolk. His brother Robert runs the farm and manages the shoot, while James looks after the guns and the day's hospitality. Godwick Hall is a well organised small shoot that can provide a very good day's partridge shooting sport for even the best guns.

Mr. N H Walker

I was offered this gun to make up a group of local friends of the owner for the day. Very friendly welcome, stayed over the night before ..superb .. The day was run very smoothly, well disciplined quiet beating and a steady stream of birds. Early for pheasants so very selective, partridge flew very well in a light wind. The average age of the team 74. Oldest 87yrs. Return on shots fired 2.4 to 1. Five stars doesn't cover it ..should have six available at least.

First day driven shoot for 12 years and was a great day!! All very welcoming and friendly and a great mix of partridge and pheasant. Really enjoyed myself and also very reasonably priced.

Great little partridge shoot with pheasants joining the bag around November. John is a lovely host and provides good hospitality throughout the day. Really good value for money shooting.
