We are an established shoot based in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds and pride ourselves with rearing top quality game birds. Our rough shooting days are exciting and ideal for working your own dogs to enhance their hunting and retrieval confidence. Early in the season we will cover boundary terrain which includes woods, dykes, sugar beat and various other cover crops. From January, we open the full shoot which provides a fabulous opportunity to work your dogs and shoot within the main drives and acres of arable farmland. You will be accompanied throughout the day by a very experienced guide. Bag size up is up to 10 for a team of 2 and 30 for a team of 6 (this can be adjusted to your requirements). We have a dedicated shoot barn with welfare facilities, plenty of parking and the use of our Gun Bus. Please email for further information.
A £50 deposit per gun is payable to secure dates. Ideal for Teams of 2 to 6 guns, however, if you want a bigger group please get in touch as we can cater for this. We can recommend local accommodation who will accept dogs. Feel free to book as an individual and we can group you with other guns.

Hospitality

Tea & Coffee on arrival. Elevensies. Homemade Sotby Sloe Gin. Lunch in the dedicated Shoot Barn Please let us know of any special dietary requirements you may have.

Birds

Expect classic rough shooting at its best—

Pheasant and partridge flushed from traditional hedgerows, woodland rides, and over lakes and reservoirs. There's also no shortage of ground game, offering fast, varied sport in natural surroundings.

Topography

You will be shooting various terrain including sugar beet, hedges, dykes, streams, woodland and other arable ground all set in the outstanding and beautiful rolling countryside of Lincolnshire.

Conservation Efforts

Our land is carefully maintained to promote biodiversity, with native hedgerows, wildflower margins, and managed woodland creating the ideal habitat for a rich variety of game, songbirds, and pollinators. Every aspect of the shoot supports sustainable practices, helping to preserve the balance between field sports and nature.

About the hosts

Your hosts for the day are the Andersen family. Carl, an experienced gamekeeper and skilled gundog trainer with Kugae Gundogs, oversees the day with expert knowledge and calm professionalism. His wife, Karen, takes care of the hospitality, ensuring everyone is well-fed and warmly welcomed. Their son Saul brings youthful energy to the beating line, keeping the day lively and well-organised.

These days are friendly, relaxed, and all about enjoying time in the field. Well-behaved dogs are always welcome — in fact, they're very much part of the experience.

A great day, Carl and Karen provided fantastic hospitality in their amazing converted barn. A very friendly shoot, and a fantastic craic on the day, with a great variety of birds to shoot at. We will definitely be visiting next season.

Second time we have been to Carl’s 1st visit was a great day 2nd visit was yet another cracking day, Between the four guns and Carl himself We had some great shooting and the dogs worked there socks off, woodland hedge backs and dykes along with the obligatory beet fields, a great test for us all, The one thing any of the four guns can’t speak more highly about , Is just how your made to feel so welcome and the banter we have is first class , Karen is the perfect hostess, and I have to say the soup is to die for, And in testimony of how great a day it was The same four of us have booked another date in January , Thanks Carl and Karen
