Whatton Estate Game Shoot

Guests are welcomed with coffee and a hot breakfast on arrival before the day begins with a safety briefing. Throughout the shoot day, drinks are served in the field and guests enjoy a delicious game focussed Elevenses made from locally sourced produce, prepared by the estate’s chefs and served by the in-house hospitality team. Depending on the package chosen, the day concludes with either a final drink and refreshments or a two-course seated meal with wine at Whatton House. Guests are looked after by a dedicated host and transported between drives in the estate’s traditional gun bus, ensuring a relaxed and enjoyable experience from arrival to departure

The landscape around Whatton House is characterised by rolling parkland set on elevated ground overlooking the surrounding countryside. The estate sits on a high bluff with expansive views east across the River Soar valley and south toward the valley of Long Whatton Brook. From the house and terraces, the land falls away into gently sloping pasture and parkland, with mature trees, woodland belts, and open fields creating a varied but flowing landscape. The wider estate includes areas of rolling grassland, arable farmland, and woodland, which together form a traditional English parkland setting with long views across the valleys and surrounding countryside.

Our dedicated in-house team member will host your day and be with you from arrival to departure. Our days are structured and professionally run yet friendly and relaxed. Days are tailored to each team as every team is different!

From the A6, turn towards Whatton House. The entrance is a short drive along a private driveway leading up to the house, where parking is available on site. Whatton is ideally situated being 5 minutes from the M1,A42 and 15 minutes from East Midlands Parkway train station and Nottingham East Midlands Airport

Whatton is proud to be a professional yet family-run shoot continuing on through the generations. Originally solely a syndicate shoot, which still runs with some original members or family members continuing on from their predescessors, there is now an established let shoot alongside. The focus for each and every day is to ensure all guns are welcomed and hosted in a manner than allows them to enjoy their day to the full with fabulous hospitality and challenging birds. The
